Laid Off
How's your summer going? Having fun? We are too. We got back from Germany on the 4th of August and I was just into my first day back when I was laid off. Not a huge surprise and I have to say I am more relieved than distressed. The EDS work environment is pretty bad and has been that way for quite some time. The veiled threat of job loss has been hung over everyone's head for some time so I'm glad to be out. Now I'm just waiting for the HR people to get the check in the mail.

The Silent Fart
An elderly couple was attending church services. About halfway through, she leans over and says to her husband,
I just let out a silent fart what do you think I should do?'
He replies, 'Put a new battery in your hearing aid.

I passed another certification exam on Tuesday. I've added Microsoft Certified System Administrator on Windows 2003 to my transcript. One more to go before March 31st and then I'll be onto my German lessons. Oh, and we bought our tickets to Germany. :)

Needs up-dating
When was the last time you up-dated the birthdays on the right???? I think the list is incomplete.
The SK Roughriders won the Grey Cup.
Anybody want to bid on the Plate Auction sponsored by the Crowsnest Pass Chamber of Commerce? It's happening Sunday, December 2, 2007 in the Stone's Throw Cafe from 3-6pm, I believe the hours are. Twelve celebs painted the dozen plates up for auction, including Jessica as one of the celebs. The mayor was booked to paint but didn't show. I guess he was polishing one of his vintage automobiles parked alongside his corner home.
The SK Roughriders won the Grey Cup beating out the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The motion light jus came on next door. I wonder what walked down the back lane. I was too late checking it out.
It showed me there's a skiff of snow on the car. The helicopters keep patrolling. We think it's because there's no snow cover and you see just brown mountain meadows.
Yesterday when I walked the dog, we saw 7 big horn sheep across the Crowsnest River from us. The dog kept taking a look. I phoned a message to the Road Watch Program so someone could come and scare them up into the mountains. They were on the west end of the base of Goat Mt.
Well, it's bed time.
Did I tell you the SK Roughriders won the Grey Cup? When the team got back to Regina mid afternoon today, there were 15,000 fans on the football field and the temp was minus 31 with the windchill factored in. Oh, gawd!! I can just imagine the cold hands and feet in that crowd.
